QIAO LIU
PIANIST
Chinese-born pianist, Qiao Liu, began her piano studies at the age of five, her talent for music showed at an early age. Making her solo debut at age eleven, Ms. Liu studied at the Shenyang Conservatory of Music in China. She then later pursued further studies in the United States at the Mannes School of Music of The New School and the Manhattan School of Music as a student of Jerome Rose, Victor Rosenbaum and Alexandre Moutouzkine. She is currently continuing her studies under the tutelage of Matti Raekallio.
As a dedicated soloist, pianist Qiao Liu has distinguished herself in numerous international competitions in the Asian, US and Europe, including the top prize at the New York Artist International Competition, The Singapore International Piano Competition, the Bradshaw & Buono International Piano Competition, IAFM Cologne International Piano Competition, Radda Rise International Piano Competition, Rondo Young Artist Competition, Golden Classical International Piano Competition, the North International Music Competition, Paris Music Competition, the Asian TOYAMA Piano Competition, Xinghai Cup National Youth Piano Competition and she has also been awarded as laureates at Pittsburgh International Piano Competition and the Montecatini International Piano Competition. In 2023, she was invited to take part in the XVII International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow.

Ms. Liu has also been invited to participate in music festivals worldwide including the Honeywell Arts Academy Festival, International Keyboard Institute & Festival, Music Academy of the West, Piano Island Festival and Academy of Fortepiano Performance Workshop & Festival. Over the seasons, Ms. Liu has performed concerts for multiple times at the most prestigious venues for performing arts including the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, The DiMenna Center for Classical Music, Kaufman Music Center, Marc Scorca Hall at National Opera Center, The Merkin Hall of Kaufman Art Center, The Steinway Hall in New York, The Pollock Theater, The I.J Paderewski Pomeranian Philharmonic Hall, Meininger Court Theater, Ancienne Eglise de Maisons-Laffitte Concert Hall, The Montecatini Terme and Palazzo del Governo, The Great Hall of Moscow P. I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory. She made her New York debut at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in 2017-2018 session.
